Books
The Fox College library currently offers access to other academic and public library collections through inter-library loan (ILL). Students, faculty and staff can request books and other materials available through libraries in Illinois by emailing librarian@foxcollege.edu with the following:
- Title of item
- Author of item
- Publisher (if known)
- ISBN
Or – please print and fill out this ILL form and bring it to the librarian.
Requests typically take 1-2 weeks to arrive at our pickup location – Prairie Trails Public Library. When the item arrives, the librarian will pick the item up for you, and then either send an email or iGrade message notifying you that it is available for pickup at the Fox College Library.
Please adhere to the due date that is listed on the item(s) you receive. Typically, inter-library loan requests cannot be renewed. Please return all items promptly to the librarian before the listed due date. Do not return items to the Prairie Trails Public Library.
Articles
The Fox College library also has access to an article lending service called ILLiad. Students, faculty, and staff have the ability to request copies of full-text articles not available through the databases that Fox subscribes.
To request an article, please email librarian@foxcollege.edu with the following:
- Title of article
- Author
- Title of journal, volume and issue number(s) (if available)
- Page numbers of article
The more information you provide, the easier it will be on the lending library to find the item for you and provide a photocopy. A screenshot or printout of where you found the article first is helpful. Citations are also extremely helpful.
Please utilize the library databases first, before asking about this service. This service cannot be used for personal reasons and is strictly for research purposes only.
The Fox College library is an affiliate member of CARLI (Consortium of Academic and Research Libraries in Illinois). Inter-library loan services are also provided through RAILS (Reaching Across Illinois Library System). These systems provide access to academic and public library collections across Illinois which are beneficial to the research needs of students, faculty, and staff.
ILLiad document delivery is provided by a partnership between OCLC and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Libraries.
